Karla Lockhart, Associate AIA & LEED A.P. is a designer and received her undergraduate degree in Architecture from the Miami University in Ohio.

Originally from the Mid-West/East Coast area, she moved to the Bay Area in 2004 to pursue a second bachelor in Industrial Design from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, CA. With her passion and diverse knowledge in design, she has worked for several design firms in both Ohio and California.

Her design philosophy is based on minimalism and sustainable design methods to create innovative design solutions. As she is currently taking the Architectural Registration Examination for licensing in architecture, she also focuses on furniture, sporting goods and electronics.

She is also passionate about exploring the world around her and using her knowledge of the built environment to create healthier communities. To this end, she promotes green building strategies among her colleagues.

What free time remains, Karla spends traveling, surfing, snowboarding and volunteering in her community including Inneract Project and Habitat for Humanity.
